Public Opinion Research Helps Build an Understanding of the Communities

More than 500 people were surveyed in focus groups and one-on-one interviews in each country. The questions were designed to help the government gain a better understanding of the knowledge, attitudes and opinions of different stakeholders around water service provision. Some of the questions were:
  • Is potable water supply a problem in your area?
  • Does potable water supply lead to conflicts in your area?
  • What is the average distance to your watering point?
  • Is potable water affordable?
  • Who is responsible for supplying your family with potable water?
  • In your opinion, what should potable water cost?
  • Where do you get information about water and sanitation services?
