International Sanitation Film Competition 2007: Call for Entries

Entries for the 2007 International Sanitation Film Competition are being accepted until October 27. One of several major international conferences around the U.N.’s International Year of Sanitation, LatinoSan is hosting this contest and gather films, documentaries, spots and animations to raise awareness at all levels among the general public, sanitation experts, children, students, and the sanitation for development community.

The audiovisual materials submitted for consideration should reflect the importance of hygiene and sanitation or document sanitation and hygiene experiences from the field, anywhere in the world. Submitted films shall not be more than 5 years old.  Films should be in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles.  Final selection will take place on October 31.  

LatinoSan 2007 is jointly organized by CINARA and Del Valle University, UNICEF, the World Health Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Water and Sanitation Program of the World Bank. The aim of the conference is to raise the political profile of sanitation and hygiene at country and regional levels in Latin America and the Caribbean through high level advocacy. The winner of the competition will be invited to present the film it the African Sanitation Conference to be held in Durban February 18-20, 2008.
